The Gouldian Finch (Erythrura gouldiae) is native to the tropical savannas of northern Australia, where it inhabits grasslands and lightly wooded areas. In the wild these birds are celebrated for their brilliant multi‑colored plumage and graceful nature.

The Yellow Back mutation is one of several color variations of the Gouldian Finch. In this mutation, the bird’s back and wings feature rich yellow feathers that contrast beautifully with its vibrant breast and head colors.
