Java Finch Sparrow Fawn

The Java sparrow is also known as Java finch, or Java rice bird is a passerine bird. Although only about the size of a house sparrow, it may be the largest species in the Estrildid family. Java Sparrow is now available in a number of mutations or colors.

Characteristics – All of the bird’s eumomelanin is missing giving the bird a brown-fawn appearance. Two variations are recognised and referred to as red-brown and beige-brown, the latter being darker in colour and less ‘ginger’.

Dimensions: 15 -17 cm (5.9 – 6.7 inches)
